API Integration Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking an API Integration Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of API integrations across the NexusAI ecosystem. This role will focus on connecting NexusAI to client systems, external platforms, and data sources, ensuring seamless data flow, scalability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building robust integrations that deliver actionable insights and tangible business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration Design & Implementation

    • Design and implement API integrations between NexusAI and enterprise systems like TMS (Transportation Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and other third-party applications.

    • Develop and optimize RESTful APIs, ensuring clean, secure, and efficient data exchange across systems.

    • Collaborate with product teams and clients to understand integration requirements, mapping data flows and identifying technical solutions.

  • System & Data Connectivity

    • Integrate diverse data sources (structured and unstructured) such as IoT devices, external logistics platforms, cloud services, and healthcare systems (e.g., FHIR, HL7).

    • Build automated pipelines to connect real-time data streams, enabling continuous updates and actionable insights.

    • Ensure NexusAI seamlessly ingests data for Digital Twin simulations, AI models, and decision-support tools.

  • Performance & Scalability

    • Optimize API performance, ensuring low latency, high throughput, and efficient data synchronization for large-scale datasets.

    • Implement scalable, reusable integration frameworks to streamline onboarding and customization for new clients and systems.

    • Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues, providing timely resolution and performance improvements.

  • Collaboration & Client Support

    • Work closely with engineering, DevOps, and data science teams to align API integrations with platform architecture.

    • Collaborate with client IT teams to support integration setup, testing, and deployment, ensuring seamless adoption of NexusAI.

    • Document integration processes, APIs, and workflows to ensure clarity for internal teams and clients.

  • Security & Compliance

    • Implement secure API practices, including token-based authentication (OAuth), encryption, and role-based access controls.

    • Ensure integrations comply with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and enterprise-grade security standards.

  • Innovation & Optimization

    • Research and implement new tools, techniques, and technologies to improve integration performance and scalability.

    • Identify opportunities to standardize and automate recurring integration processes, reducing time-to-deployment for new systems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing API integrations for enterprise systems or SaaS platforms.

  • Strong proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs; experience with tools like Postman or Swagger.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js for API development and scripting.

  • Experience integrating with systems like TMS, WMS, ERP, or similar enterprise platforms.

  • Hands-on experience working with JSON, XML, and API authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, API Keys).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools for managing data pipelines and connectivity.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot integration issues quickly and effectively.

Preferred:

  • Experience with healthcare data frameworks (e.g., FHIR, HL7) or EDI integrations.

  • Understanding of supply chain workflows, including data exchanges between logistics, inventory, and procurement systems.

  • Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and data streaming tools for real-time integrations.

  • Familiarity with ETL pipelines and working with large, real-time data flows.

  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards, including HIPAA for healthcare integrations.
