Lead Unity 3D Graphics Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Unity 3D Graphics Engineer to design and build the real-time 3D twin and advanced visualizations that lets operators “see” every SKU, bed, and dollar flowing through the system. You’ll drive the Unity codebase, mentor a small but growing graphics team, and partner with AI/ML, data, and product leaders to ship a performant, auditable twin that scales from demo to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Real-Time 3D Development

    • Design and implement Unity scenes, shaders, and tooling for large-scale hospital and logistics models.

    • Design and implement real-time 3D graphics and visualizations to represent complex supply chain networks, AI-driven insights, and Digital Twin simulations.

    • Ensure real-time updates on commodity GPUs with smooth camera controls, LOD, and texture streaming.

    • Develop interactive 3D environments that allow users to visualize and manipulate large-scale data models, including assets like warehouses, logistics routes, and inventory flows.

    • Build tools and APIs to integrate 3D visualizations with real-time data pipelines, ensuring seamless interaction between the graphics layer and backend systems.

  • Digital-Twin Simulation

    • Integrate live data feeds (MQTT, HL7/FHIR, EDI) and AI forecasts into interactive simulations.

    • Enable users to manipulate timelines, view predictive impact, and run “what-if” analyses in 3D.

    • Develop user interaction models for simulation controls, enabling users to manipulate timeframes, view predictive impacts, and test optimization strategies in 3D.

  • Performance & Scalability

    • Own profiling, GPU optimization, DOTS/Burst pipelines, and cross-platform builds.

    • Optimize rendering pipelines for efficiency and scalability, ensuring real-time visualization on diverse devices and environments.

    • Implement LOD (Level of Detail), texture streaming, and GPU-based optimizations to improve performance with large and dynamic datasets.

    • Ensure smooth frame rates and responsiveness for 3D applications dealing with real-time AI/ML data updates.

  • Technical Leadership

    • Partner with product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to design and implement user-driven 3D workflows.

    • Mentor developers, codify best practices, and review code/asset pipelines.

    • Ensure new hires ramp within two weeks and the codebase follows documented patterns.

  • Collaboration & Integration

    • Build APIs and tools that let backend engineers bind data without refactoring scenes.

    • Eliminate re-work when new data sources come online.

    • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to integrate 3D visualizations seamlessly into the NexusAI user experience.

  • Research & Innovation

    • Deliver POCs that feed the product roadmap.

    • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in 3D graphics, simulation techniques, and rendering engines.

    • Experiment with emerging technologies such as WebGL, or spatial computing to identify opportunities for enhancing NexusAI’s capabilities.

    • Research techniques for integrating AI-generated visualizations and dynamic data-driven graphics into 3D environments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3-5+ years of experience designing and developing real-time 3D graphics applications in Unity (or similar engine) with C# and/or C++.

  • Proven delivery of interactive visualizations for data-heavy or simulation products.

  • Deep knowledge of rendering pipelines, shading, lighting, LOD, and GPU optimization (HLSL/GLSL).

  • Experience integrating live data streams and/or AI outputs into 3-D scenes.

  • Track record mentoring engineers or artists on performance and code quality.

 

Preferred:

  • Digital-twin, simulation, or large-scale logistics / healthcare experience.

  • Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, or spatial-computing frameworks.

  • Exposure to supply-chain or hospital data standards (EDI 856/945, HL7, FHIR).

  • Experience blending Unity with .NET micro-services and message buses.

  • Familiarity with integrating AI/ML models into 3D visualizations to display predictions, anomalies, or simulations.
