Managing Director - Sales - Supply-Chain Logistics

Position Overview

The Managing Director is responsible for driving new client acquisition within the Supply-Chain Logistics sector, building strong, lasting relationships with mid-to-large-sized companies. This role encompasses account management, ensuring financial prudence in product decisions, and collaborating with client services to maintain high levels of client satisfaction. The Managing Director will also provide formal client insights to validate product roadmaps and refine marketing messaging, working alongside marketing resources to ensure messaging resonates with prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Client Acquisition:

    • Identify, research, and target prospective clients within the Supply-Chain Logistics sector using a structured and data-driven approach that aligns with NexStratus's strategic priorities, ensuring a focus on high-potential opportunities.

    • Develop and execute comprehensive outreach strategies, including leveraging personal and professional networks, conducting in-depth market analysis, attending industry-specific events, and utilizing digital and traditional prospecting tools.

    • Build trust with key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations, presenting tailored value propositions that highlight the benefits of NexStratus’s AI Readiness consulting services and NexusAI product capabilities.
       

  • Account Management:

    • Ensure seamless onboarding of new clients by coordinating closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and client services, to establish clear expectations and deliverables.

    • Regularly review and analyze financial metrics, project performance, and client satisfaction data to ensure alignment with client expectations and organizational goals.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and identifying opportunities for enhanced collaboration and service delivery to drive retention and loyalty.
       

  • Product Roadmap Contribution:

    • Actively gather detailed, actionable feedback from clients during engagements, focusing on identifying pain points, emerging needs, and opportunities for innovation and improvement.

    • Partner with marketing and product teams to validate insights, ensuring they are incorporated into messaging strategies and product development plans to enhance market relevance and appeal.

    • Participate in product development discussions by presenting client insights and emerging industry trends, offering strategic recommendations that align with market demands and client expectations.
       

  • Client Portfolio Management:

    • Manage a dynamic portfolio of mid-to-large-sized companies, ensuring strategic alignment with NexStratus’s growth objectives and maintaining high standards of client service.

    • Build and nurture deep, trust-based relationships with clients by demonstrating consistent value delivery, thought leadership, and a proactive approach to addressing client needs.

    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell additional services and solutions, maximizing client value while contributing to revenue growth and long-term partnerships.
       

  • Collaboration and Travel:

    • Collaborate closely with marketing to refine messaging, develop impactful sales materials, and craft strategies that effectively resonate with target audiences and drive engagement.

    • Represent NexStratus at conferences, trade shows, and industry events, actively engaging with prospective clients, partners, and thought leaders to position the company as an industry innovator.

    • Travel 25-50% as required, maintaining a balance between in-person relationship-building and effective use of remote communication tools to maximize client engagement and efficiency 
       

  • Sales Metrics and Targets:

    • Drive measurable client growth by achieving and exceeding ambitious sales targets, contributing directly to the company’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) goals and overall business performance.

    • Maintain exceptional client satisfaction scores, reflected in high Net Promoter Scores (NPS), by delivering consistently excellent service and fostering strong client relationships.

    • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics, leveraging insights to identify areas for improvement, implement solutions, and celebrate successes within the team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA); an advanced degree in a related field is highly preferred.

  • Extensive experience in sales, business development, or account management, with a proven track record of success.

  • Demonstrated ability to sell into the C-suite, with a wide network and measurable achievements.

  • Exceptional sales skills and deep knowledge of the Supply-Chain Logistics sector.
     

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with technology and AI solutions, or a strong desire to learn.

  • Experience contributing to product roadmaps or providing actionable client insights.
